The Pearland Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is an highly organized group of committed volunteers working both part-time and full-time. Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) and paramedics serve Pearland area's homes and businesses.

Pearland schools have a growing reputation for success in maintaining a classroom environment that is most conducive to learning. Constant improvement is the key feature. The Texas Education Agency (TEA) in 2001 rated the district "exemplary", which is the highest designation awarded by the agency.
Encompassing 43.5 square miles, the district has a student enrollment of 11,263. All 13 campuses (seven elementary schools, two middle schools, two junior high schools, one high school and one student assignment center) are fully accredited by TEA. Two new school campuses are currently under construction.
The district provides a comprehensive academic program in grades K-12, which allows students multiple opportunities to reach their potential. Special services, bilingual/ESL, gifted and talented and pre-kindergarten programs are offered to students who qualify. The entire K-12 curriculum has real-life applications that include the integration of technology. This district also has an extensive career and technology program that makes connections with the business community.
Pearland Community College
The Pearland College Center, established in August of 1998, offers university transfer courses (such as history, math, sociology, government and accounting), which could lead to an associate degree for students transferring to a four-year university. Other offerings include a variety of technical courses including computer science, office administration, criminal justice, Microsoft certification, real estate and emergency management.
Nearly 275,000 students are enrolled in more than 500 degree and certification programs at 40-plus colleges, community colleges and institutes.

Shadow Creek Ranch, a master-planned community that is projected to add 3,350 homes over the next five years. At build-out, Shadow Creek Ranch is anticipated to have more than 12,000 homes.
The number of households in the Pearland area increased by 86.3 percent between 1990 and 2001, from 11,549 to 21,519; compared to 16.4 percent for the United States as a whole.

Pearland Transportation

Beltway 8, Houston's "second loop", runs along Pearland's northern boundary. Pearland is also located off State Highway 288, which is surrounded by some of the most undeveloped real estate land around the Houston area, meaning less traffic than on any other Houston highway.
Air travel is also available to Pearland's homeowners, Houston's Hobby Airport is less than 10 minutes from Pearland's northern city limits on State Highway 35.
